The victim of an apparently random attack on a Kelowna city bus has been identified as father of one and aerospace worker, Caesar Rosales.
Tyler Jack Newton, 23, has been charged with the second degree murder of Rosales on Thursday night. He allegedly stabbed Rosales in the neck in an apparently random attack as Newton was leaving the busy bus.
Rosales, 55, worked for aerospace specialists Kelowna Flightcraft. In a statement issued Monday, the company said Rosales lived life to the fullest.
“Kelowna Flightcraft staff and management were stunned, shocked, and heartbroken to learn a valued employee, colleague, and friend was lost to an unspeakable act of violence on Thursday,” read thestatement.
“As a person, Caesar was intelligent, gentle, caring, and passionate. He took the opportunity to live life to the fullest – skydiving, bungy jumping, zip lining, hiking, and walking the CN Tower – all in the last few years.”
According to the release, Rosales moved to Kelowna two years ago, having previously worked in Vancouver and the Philippines and had become “a part of the Flightcraft family”.
“Caesar’s murder wounds us all, leaves a void where he once worked, and played,” it continued.
